CHURCH CALENDAR


Aug. 19

— Galeed Baptist Church, located at 571 Galeed Church Road in Bladenboro, will host “New Dove Brothers & Carolina Homecoming” at 7 p.m. featuring The Dover Brothers and Jordan’s Bridge. No tickets required.

Aug. 20

— Millers Chapel United Methodist Church, located at 1753 Hwy. 20 in Tar Heel, will hold worship service at 11 a.m., and then a “Community Back to School Give-Away.”

— The public is invited to Family and Friends Day at Piney Grove Missionary Baptist Church, located at 851 South Braddy Plantation Road in Council, at 11 a.m. The Rev. Carl A. Smith is the pastor. The day’s guests will be Delora Lesane and Greater McKoy’s Chapel Church from Dublin.

— Women’s Day will be observed at Whites Creek Missionary Baptist Church during the morning service starting at 11 a.m. The speaker will be Minister Shelia Cromartie and the public is invited. The church is located at 6838 Airport Road in the Lisbon Community.

— True Vine Holiness Church will be celebrating Part II of Pastor Luel Campbell’s 43rd Pastoral Anniversary at 4 p.m. Co-Pastor Annie McKoy and choir from Durham will render the service. Everyone has a cordial invitation to attend. The church is located on 1503 Harrelson Road, Clarkton.

— New Zion African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church, located at 2533 Lisbon Road in Council, will host a Church Homecoming Service at 4 p.m. The guest speaker will be Apostle Anthony Richburg of Salvation and Deliverance Church in Maco.

Aug. 21-25

— Whites Creek Missionary Baptist Church will hold Revival Services starting at 7 p.m. each night. The Rev. Mumford of South Carolina will be the speaker. The church is located at 6838 Airport Road in the Lisbon Community.

Aug. 27

— Central Presbyterian Church will be holding a Men’s Day Program at 3 p.m. honoring Elder Eunice George Jones and Elder Eula Spaulding. The guest speaker is Romeo Spaulding, their nephew from Capitol Heights, Md. All are invited to attend. Light refreshments will be served after the program. Central Presbyterian Church is located at 7280 Hallsboro Road in Clarkton.

Sept. 1-2

— A community yard sale will be held at Lasley’s Motel, located at 1930 White lake Drive in White Lake, from 8 a.m. until? For sale will be various items from the historic Lasley’s Motel and cottages, household goods, appliances, furniture and much more. Proceeds will benefit the White Lake Christian Camp and Retreat Center.

Sept. 3

— An open house will be held at the White Lake Christian Camp and Retreat Center from 2 to 4 p.m. The public is invited.

Sept. 9

— A benefit for the Rev. Danny Lewis will be held at the White Oak Community Civic Club from 4:30 to 7 p.m. The event will include a steak plate sale for $12.50 per plate, as well as a silent auction. Tickets are available at Cain’s Grill and local churches.

Sept. 29-Oct. 1

• Lumberton on Saturday, Aug, 19: Kingdom Place will have a “Back to School Blast” from 10 a.m. until noon for all kids ages 5 to 12, accompanied by their parent. There will be games, free food, free clothes and school supplies, devotion, and prayer. Kingdom Place is located at 2610 East Fifth St. in Lumberton.

• College Small Group will meet from 6 until 7 p.m. (ages 18 to 23) followed by AMPED Student Ministry worship service from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m. each Sunday night at Dublin First Baptist Church. The upbeat worship service will be lead by our student ministry band, and include drama, and deep Biblical teaching.
