— A special 15th year memorial tribute to the Shipman family will be held at Saint James AME Zion Church on Twisted Hickory Road in Bladenboro beginning at 5 p.m. Master of Ceremony De’Jour Alexander Simpson will introduce guests that will include Mt. Zion AME Zion Church combined choir and soloist Harold Boone of Mt. Hebron AME Zion Church.

— First Missionary Baptist Church of Abbottsburg will hold their birthday program at 3 p.m. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Boykin of Baldwin Branch Missionary Baptist Church. He will be joined by his choir.

Dec. 12

— Refuge of Deliverance Ninistries will sponsor a free community hot dog lunch starting at 11 a.m. at 203 Martin Luther King Drive. The community is invited. The lunch will consist of a hot dog, bag of chips, cookie and drink; there will also be small personal hygiene care packages given away consisting of toothbrush, toothpaste, bar of soap, toilet tissue and deoderant.

Dec. 13

— The Adult Choir at Center Road Baptist Church will present the cantata “Heaven’s Child” at 11 a.m. Everyone is invited.

Dec. 23

— The Children, Youth and Praise and Worship Choir at Center Road Baptist Church will present their Christmas Drama at 7 p.m. during the annual Children’s Christmas Tree. Everyone is invited.

— The Heavenly Hearts Foundation will host a Power to Praise Gospel Fest 2016 beginning at 6 p.m. at the Friendly Community Center in Clinton. On program will be Billy Ray and the Gospelairs, Matthew Murchison and Fresh Sounds, Deliverance Victory Temple Choir, Perry Parker and the Jubilair, Spiritual Voices and Genesis and many more.
