The game — which turned into a foul fest and saw the fouling out of three players, as well as a technical on the West Columbus coach — opened with the momentum on the side of the Lady Vikings. They got out to a 10-5 lead after the first quarter of play, but things were about to change.
In the second stanza, West Bladen turned the table as both its offense and defense came alive. The Lady Knights outscored West Columbus 19-6 in the quarter and took a 24-16 lead into halftime.
That momentum remained for West Bladen in the third quarter, as the Lady Knights won the period 10-3 and expanded the lead to 34-19.
Defenses got scaled back a bit in the fourth quarter, but West Bladen managed to outscore the Lady Vikings 14-11 down the stretch to take the win.
Taylor Stephens led the Lady Knights with 19 points, while Courtney Thompson added 13 points.
— Courtney Thompson put the Lady Knights on her back Thursday night and carried them to a 37-32 non-conference win over South Columbus in Dublin.

West Bladen used a pair of Thompson baskets to open the third quarter with 4-0 run to knot the game, and went on to outscore the Lady Stallions 11-5 in the period to open a 28-26 lead heading into the fourth quarter.
South Columbus got a three-pointer to open the final 8 minutes, but it was the last lead they would see. West Bladen, thanks to a pair of baskets from Thompson, finished the game on a 9-3 run to seal the game.
