ROSE HILL — Jaquan Jones erupted for 21 points on Thursday and led East Bladen’s Eagles to their second straight Four County Conference win, a 63-37 thumping of Union High.
East Bladen evened its record at 7-7 overall and improved to 2-4 in the conference.
Jones was half of the Eagles’ offense in the first quarter, putting eight points on the board and helping to lead East Bladen to a 17-9 lead after the first 8 minutes.
The Eagles put another 17 points in the books through the second stanza and Jones accounted for six of those as East Bladen extended its lead to 34-21 by halftime.
A more defensive third quarter ensued after intermission, but the Eagles still managed to outscore the Spartans by a 10-7 margin and take a 44-28 advantage into the fourth quarter.
East Bladen found its offense once again over the final 8 minutes, putting 19 points on the board while holding Union to just nine to seal the 26-point win.
Jones led East Bladen with 21 points, while Farrell Murchison added 12 points behind a pair of three-pointers. Ten Eagles scored in the game.
