DUBLIN — A first-inning run and a pair of double plays helped the Lady Knights nip Wallace-Rose Hill on Friday, 1-0, in a Four County Conference game.

West Bladen is now 13-2, 7-2.

Morgan Sweeney led off with a double in the bottom of the first for West Bladen and a moved to third on a bunt. Sweeney then sped home on a wild pitch for a 1-0 lead.

Neither team could score the rest of the way.

But the Lady Bulldogs threatened twice — in the third with one out and two on, Taylor Stephens turned a double play to end the inning; and in the seventh with one on and one out, a double play ended the game.

“They are tough,” said West Bladen coach Pam Stephens. “I’m glad we are done with them.”

Nicole Wyatt went the distance in the circle for the Lady Knights, giving up four hits and fanning six en route to the win.
