June 22

— There will be a Men’s Conference on Saturday, June 22, at 10 a.m. at Kitchen Branch Missionary Baptist Church.

The annual Black River Bream and Bass Tournament, sponsored by the White Lake Baptist Church Brotherhood, has been rescheduled to Saturday, June 22, from 4 until 9 p.m. Start checking boats at 3 p.m. Must be in line with fish by 9 p.m. Entry fee is $20 per person each class, $10 for 10 years or younger. There will be two cash payoffs (50 percent of total entry fees each class). Rules are N.C. fishing regulations. No alcoholic beverages. — Christ Community Baptist Church will hold its annual Vacation Bible School on Saturday, June 22 at 8:30 a.m. and on Sunday, June 23, at 5 p.m. The Bible school is open to ages 3-18 years old. The public is invited to attend.

— The White Oak Family Worship Center in White Oak wil lhave Vacation Bible School beginning Saturday, June 22, and continuing through Wednesday, June 26. Dinner will be served at 5:30 p.m. and classes begin at 6:30 p.m. The theme is “Kingdom Rock: Where Kids Stand Strong for God.” For more information call, 910-866-5343.

June 23

— There will be an Ordination Service at First Missionary Baptist Church on Sunday, June 23, at 3:30 p.m. The guest speaker will be Pastor Harry Ghee.

June 24

— Vacation Bible School will be held at Mt. Olive AME Zion Church beginning Monday, June 24, and continuing through Friday, June 28. Classes will be held from 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. nightly. Classes will be available for pre-k to adult. The theme will be “God’s Backyard Bible Camp Under the Sun.” Refreshments will be served each night.

— Vacation Bible School will be held at First Baptist Church, 521 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, Bladenboro, beginning Monday, June 24, and continuing through Friday, June 28. Classes will be conducted for pre-school, primary, juniors, teenagers and adults from 6 until 8 p.m. nightly. Everyone is invited to attend.

June 28

— The Hammond Creek Union will be held at Kitchen Branch Missionary Baptist Church on Friday, June 28, at 6:30 p.m.

June 29

— The Hammond Creek Union will continue at Kitchen Branch Missionary Baptist Church on Saturday, June 29, at 9:45 a.m.

The St. Luke Male Chorus will celebrate their first anniversary on Saturday, June 29, at the St. Luke A.M.E. Zion Church in Bladenboro at 4 p.m. On program will be the Council Male Chorus of Council, the St. Thomas Male Chorus of White Oak, the Mt. Zion Male Chorus of Elizabethtown, and many more. Everyone is invited to attend.

June 30

— Trinity United Methodist Church located at 16550 Hwy. 53 East, Kelly, will celebrate homecoming on Sunday, June 30. Sunday school will begin at 10 a.m. A message in song will be presented at 10:30 a.m. by The Promise. A message in word will be presented by the Rev. Francis Daniel at 11:30 a.m. A covered dish meal will be served immediately following the worship service. Everyone is invited to bring a covered dish and enjoy a day of praise and worship. On Sunday, June 30, the officers and members of the Graham Chapel A. M. E. Zion Church in the East Arcadia community, will host their Annual Family and Friends’ Day Celebration. The day’s services will begin with Sunday School at 9:45 a.m., followed at 11 a.m. by the annual Family and Friends’ Day Celebration. The morning message will be delivered by the Rev. Q. Jimmel Williamson, pastor of the Pleasant Union Missionary Baptist Church, also located in East Arcadia. Accompanying Williamson will be the Pleasant Union Church family. Music will be rendered by both the Graham Chapel Male Chorus and the Pleasant Union Choir. Following the worship service, the church will serve a fellowship meal. Join us for the day and help us to celebrate family and friends.

July 13

— Clarkton PFWB Church will host The Cummings Brothers and Berteneta, Saturday, July 13, at 7 p.m. The church is located at 24 Page Road, across from Dowless Catering. Contact Pastor Charlie Tatum at 910-991-6540 with any questions. Bring friends and family for a blessing through song.

— Women of Excellence present the fifth annual Women’s Conference to be held Friday, June 21, beginning at 6 p.m. and Saturday, June 22, beginning at 8 a.m. at Greater Chrysolite AME Zion Church located 1307 Meadow Road, Lumberton. The conference is sponsored by the Clarkton District. There will be a breakfast and Agape luncheon. Conference emphasis will be on Praise, prayer and power.
