ELIZABETHTOWN — Elizabethtown Police are searching for two men they believe took two cash registers from the No. 1 Chinese restaurant on South Poplar Street late Tuesday.
Elizabethtown Police Chief Bobby Kinlaw said the two men entered the restaurant at about 10:30 p.m. through a back door when an employee had opened the door to take the garbage out.
“Officers were dispatched … for a report of a 9-1-1 hangup,” Kinlaw said. “When officers arrived, they learned that the restaurant had just been robbed at gunpoint.”
He added that the two men fled the scene on foot and went toward Dunham Street.
Kinlaw said the first suspect is described as a black male, 20 t0 22 years old, about 5-foot, 8 inches tall with a slim build. He was last seen wearing a black hoodie, black face mask and black gloves.
The second suspect is a black male, also 20 to 22 years old standing 5-6 or 5-7 and dressed in all black.
“The call came in as a 9-1-1, but the phone was dropped … when one of the suspects approached the employee who was placing the call,” Kinlaw said.
He added that there were no injuries during the robbery, and no arrests have been made.
