BLADENBORO — The seventh annual “Christmas for Kids” fundriaser, sponsored by the Bladenboro Police Department, is under way.

Each year the staff of Bladenboro Primary School chooses 18 to 25 underprivileged children and their names are given to the Bladenboro Police Department.

According to Bladenboro Police Chief Ronnie Rising, chaperones and police officers will escort the kids to Walmart in Elizabethtown for them to shop. Walmart of Elizabethtown is a contributor to the fundraiser.

The children are allowed to shop for clothes first and then the fun stuff, such as toys is at the bottom of their list.

If you would like to mkae a donation to this worthy cause and help a child that otherwise would not receive Christmas, you may mail your check to the Bladenboro Police Department, P.O. Box 445, Bladenboro 28320. Make the checks payable to the Police Department and for “Christmas for kids.”

If you are in Bladenboro, you can take your donation by the police department.
