ELIZABETHTOWN — A 16 year old male of Clarkton died from injuries suffered in a dirt bike accident Saturday. The teenager was identified as Cody Ransom Cole Blackmon, the son of Elvis and Michelle Blackmon. Blackmon would have entered his junior year at East Bladen High School.

The accident occurred at Cape Fear ATV Park, just north of Elizabethtown owned by Lyn Savage. Blackmon died at Rex Hospital in Raleigh.

Bladen County Sheriff Department’s Chief Deputy Phillip Little confirmed the death, but had few details. Little said a continuing investigation is underway by the Sheriff's Department.
