ELIZABETHTOWN — Dalton Dockery, Bladen County Extension director, for the past two years, has announced he will be leaving his post effective Monday, Nov. 30. He will be taking over the reins as director of the Columbus County Extension Office.
“I just want to thank the citizens of Bladen County for allowing me to work here for the past two years,” said Dockery. “I will be going to my home county as director there.”
He added he is proud of the fact he and his staff have developed a strong sense of teamwork with other agencies.
“As director I give leadership, but having good agents has made my job a lot easier. My number one accomplishment is seeing the agents working together to try to build a cohesive team between the other agencies and extension,” said Dockery.
Another accomplishment he is proud of is re-instituting Farm-City Week in Bladen County. The banquet this year will mark the second year of its return.
Dockery said his emphasis is teamwork. He added everyone who works in the extension building works well together.
“You have to work together to meet the needs of Bladen County,” said Dockery. “It’s been fun.”
Nov. 30 will be his last day on the job in Bladen County.
