CLARKTON — Bladen County Sheriff’s deputies arrested five men on Friday after four separate reports of gunfire in and around Clarkton

According to reports, the men were riding in a green Lincoln on Friday evening when the shooting spree began. The first call was received at about 7 p.m. on Booker T. Washington Road. A second call came a short time later from the 1000 block of 211 West; the third call came from a man in the 6000 block of 211 West who claimed he’d been shot in the leg; and the fourth call came from a man riding in a van on Grimsley Farm Road who said his head had been grazed by a gunshot.

Each of the callers described the green Lincoln to 911 operators.

The two men who were shot were taken to Bladen County Hospital by Bladen EMS, and each was released after treatment. Bladen County Sheriff Steve Bunn said their injuries were “not serious.”

Sheriff’s deputies and officers with the State Highway Patrol located the green Lincoln near the intersection of N.C. 211 by-pass and N.C. 242 on Friday night near Bladenboro. Three of the suspects were arrested with the vehicle, and two were walking nearby along the shoulder of the road.

Officers found a shotgun and .44 magnum in the ditch nearby.

Each of the five were arrested and charged with discharging a weapon in occupied property and felonious conspiracy. All are in the Bladen County Jail under a $120,000 bond each.

“The investigating is continuing and additional charges will be filed. We expect to make a connection between this shooting and incidents of gunfire that occurred recently in Dublin.” Bunn said.

Arrested were:

•Terrence Burden, 28, of 231 Irene Drive, Clarkton. According to Sheriff Bunn he has been arrested 20 times since 1999 for trespassing, assault, breaking and entering, armed robbery and resisting arrest.

•Terrance Daniels, 20, of 54 Pear Tree Lane, Clarkton. According to Bunn, Daniels has been arrested 16 times by local lawmen since 2002 for assault and probation violation.

•Tyrell Davis, 18, of Kary Kemp Drive, Clarkton. Davis has been arrested seven times since 2004 according to Bunn, for breaking and entering and simple assault.

•Corey Clark, 24, of 3458 Mitchell Ford Road, Clarkton. The green Lincoln was owned by his mother, according to Bunn. He has been arrested nine times since 2001 for DUI and assault on a female.

•McKinley Freemen, Jr., 18, of 47 Howie and Hammond Road, Clarkton. According to Bunn Freeman has been arrested six times since 2004 for misdemeanor drug charges, robbery and misdemeanor assault.
