ELIZABETHTOWN — An interim director has been announced for the Bladen County Cooperative Extension Agency. Sandra Cain has taken over the reins temporarily until a new director is hired.
“I’ll be handling the basic running of the office,” said Cain in an interview on Monday afternoon.
Cain replaces Dalton Dockery, who’s last day was Nov. 30.
Cain began her career nearly 18 years ago as an extension agent in Hoke County and then came to the Bladen County Extension office in 2002 as a Family and Consumer Science agent.
Cain expects the director’s position to be filled as quickly as possible.
“They will post the job for about 30 days and people can apply,” said Cain of the process.
In the meantime, Cain says people can expect all the same services they have always received from the extension offices.
“We’ll still answer questions clients have and we still want people to come by,” said Cain. “Nothing is going to change.”
