WASHINGTON — U.S. Rep. Mike McIntyre announced recently that the Lisbon Volunteer Fire Department has received $416,250 in federal funds for operations and safety improvements.

“Our fire departments are on the front lines in protecting our citizens and communities,” McIntyre said. “These federal funds will help the Lisbon Volunteer Fire Department continue to do their job! Congratulations to all for securing these funds!”

The United States Department of Homeland Security has awarded these congressionally appropriated funds through its firefighters assistance program.

McIntyre is a member of the Homeland Security, Fire Services, and First Responder Congressional Caucus.

To whom it may concern, people who are so happy sure spend a lot of time worrying about what other people think! This is a good thing, glad we got some much needed help. No one really cares about the "drama", anyone who matters that is. Don't assume or point fingers unless you have all your facts first! Thank you

The grant is really a county-wide effort to provide Vipor radios for all fire departments in the county. Lisbon graciously agreed to host the grant. The grant will provide for more fireman to be better equipped.

If you would do your research you would find that Lisbon Fire Department hosted this regional grant with other departments in Bladen County to go to a 800 mhz radio system. Just because it says they recieved $416,000 doesn't mean its all for Lisbon, instead of fussing and critizing how about volunteering or supporting your local department.

Of course Lisbon VFD is going to get a grant, Bradley Kinlaw attends Lisbon Baptist Church or as the other cult members refer to it as "LBC"! Its good to know that while other departments struggle with getting any kind of funds at all, Lisbon pulled off this big grant to spruce up their department!

If you go to the article on Bladen Online, you will read that the grant is actually a county-wide grant that LVFD is hosting. It is for the benefit of all Bladen County fire departments. Bradley attending MY church has nothing to do with it. He has numerous ties to this community, such as his very sweet grandparents that you are undoubtedly harming with this mess, his service with LVFD, and much others. Just get your facts straight before you start shooting off at the mouth or the keyboard. Don and I have really prayed that you and the rest of your family had found some real happiness and peace at your new church when you left "LBC," but it seems that wasn't the case. We really have a lot of love for you all but you chose to leave--no one forced you out. Find some peace with your decision. Prayers will continue to go up on your behalf.
