They are coming, those nonbelievers

Yes, it’s coming our way. It’s coming to us right down the road in Charlotte, to all of us here in North Carolina.

For the first time in the history of our republic, a president of the U.S.A. is going to publicly proclaim he is for same-sex marriage; and not only him, but the party of the American worker decided to make that stand as part of their platform.

Not long ago, we here in North Carolina voted 2-1 against same-sex marriage for our state. Of course, the national leadership of the Democratic Party knows that, which goes to show they don’t give a hill of beans what we think and want.

While on the subject of think and want, let’s see if what I think and want is the same as you: I sure think this deficit spending is very shortly going to catch up with us. I want someone leading this country who hates debt. And it’s not only the national debt that’s a problem. How many municipalities have you read of that are filing bankruptcy? Well, maybe we expect too much from our government. It looks like government can’t afford it. After all, government cannot create something from nothing, like you know who. They must tax Peter and Paul to come up with enough money to pay John.

When you think of our country’s past, it’s a fact that generations ago there was a larger percentage of us who went to church. They must have learned to trust God more than what we do, because they weren’t always going to the government for help. And they certainly didn’t have the moral curses that we have today.

Well, as for me, I’ve decided to go to church Sunday. I’m going to tell God, “I sure am sorry for the mess I and my generation has allowed our country to get into today, morally and financially. God, this one thing I promise you, I’m going to do my best not to vote for anyone who is willing to allow us to continue in this mess of trusting government rather seeking God’s promises.”

That’s what I think … what do you want?
