Three arrested in drug charges

According to Bladen County Sheriff Department’s Chief Deputy Phillip Little, on Nov. 10 drug enforcement agents issued a search warrant of the residence of Evans Lee Bryant, 51, of 2816 Tar Heel Ferry Road in White Oak.

During the search officers found 80 marijuana plants in a storage building, hug to cure. Bryant has been charged with possession with intent to sell, manufacturing marijuana by growing and drying and maintaining a dwelling for the distribution of marijuana.

Also recovered in the search was a stolen 12 gauge shot gun. Bryant was also charged with felony possession of stolen property.

Bryant was placed under a $2,500 bond and has been released from the Bladen County Jail.

In a separate incident involving drugs, Rufus Wendell Way, 43, of 86 Harrison Creek Church Road, White Oak was arrested at the intersection of Burney Road and N.C. 53, as officers observed two suspicious vehicles stopped at the intersection and both occupants making connection with each other. The driver of the other vehicle was Sabrina Pennington McCord, 46, of 118 Harrison Creek Church Road, White Oak.

Way was charged with possession of marijuana with the intent to sell and deliver 19 grams of marijuana and maintaining a vehicle for the distribution of illegal drugs. During the search of the vehicle a digital scales and a hand gun. Way’s bond was placed at $2,000.

McCord vehicle was searched and officers found 1/2 ounce of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Her bond was set at $1,500
