Friends and family members from all around gathered on Saturday in support of a fundraiser for the family of Buddy Burney, who passed away Jan. 10 after a battle with cancer. About 800 plates were sold, according to Marvin Burney, Buddy’s brother, who said “the support everyone showed was unreal.” Around 40 workers showed up at the Dixie Youth Baseball Complex in Clarkton around 8 a.m., to prepare for the day. Noel Dennis, left, and Todd Burney filled plates as orders came in that afternoon.
