DUBLIN – The Lady Knights rallied to knot Wednesday’s Four County Conference game against Pender County at the end of regulation, took a five-point lead in the overtime and hung on for a 45-43 win.

West Bladen improved to 7-5 overall and 3-0 in the conference.

Logan Autry led the Lady Knights with six points through the first quarter as West Bladen took a 12-11 edge going into the second quarter.

The Lady Patriots took the lead in the second stanza with an 8-5 run and carried a 19-17 advantage into halftime.

West Bladen regained the lead in the second half with a stiff defense through the third quarter. Laikyn Pait drained a trio of baskets and the Lady Knights outscored the visitors by a 14-2 margin and took a 25-21 lead, but Pender County responded with a 7-1 burst and took a 29-28 lead going into the fourth quarter.

The visitors edged ahead 34-30, but West Bladen finished regulation with a 7-3 run to knot the game.

In overtime, the Lady Knights scored the first five points and Pender never got closer than two.

Pait led West Bladen with 13 points, nine rebounds and four steals, while Autry added 11 points and six steals.
