BURGAW –Clinton’s Mikayla Boykin put on a clinic Wednesday with a rare quadruple-double — 26 points, 12 rebounds, 10 steals and 10 assists — to lead the Lady Dark Horses past West Bladen, 76-47, in the semifinals of the Four County Conference Tournament at Pender County High.
The loss drops the Lady Knights to 12-14.
Jerena Purdie canned five points for West Bladen in the first quarter, but the Lady Dark Horses rode a 22-11 run through the period to take a quick lead.
Laikyn Pait and Indiyah Williams each scored four points in the second stanza, but Clinton used a 26-14 burst through the quarter to carry a 48-25 advantage into the intermission.
The Lady Knights kept things close through the third quarter, but the Lady Dark Horses still managed to win the period, 18-13, and extend the lead to 66-38. Pait’s three-pointer was the highlight for West Bladen.
In the fourth frame, Clinton and West Bladen traded points and the Lady Dark Horses sealed the 29-point win with a 10-9 quarter advantage.
Pait led the Lady Knights with 14 points, while Purdie added nine.
