ROWLAND — For the second straight night, West Bladen went on the road and took the home team to extra innings — only to see the end result go the wrong way.

On Wednesday, the Knights rallied to knot the game with South Robeson at 7-7 on a grand slam by Trent West in the top of the seventh inning, but the Mustangs used a two-out bloop hit in the bottom of the eighth inning to win the game, 8-7.

Weston Pidgeon led West Bladen at the plate, going 3-for-5, while West was 2-for-5 with the home home, a double and five runs batted in. Scott Bowen was 2-for-5 with an RBI and Jarrett Williams had two hits with an RBI.
