LUMBERTON — After dropping their first game of the season on Tuesday, West Bladen’s summer baseball team rebounded with a no-hitter to take the nightcap and earn a split of the Dixie Youth Pre-Majors twin bill.

The split moved the Knights to 3-1 on the season. They were scheduled to host East Bladen for a double-header Thursday starting at 6 p.m.

In the opener, West Bladen got a complete game on the hill from Nolan Bryant, but the Pirates tagged him with an 8-2 loss.

In the second game, Derrick Long hurled three innings of no-hit ball for the Knights and Logan West came on to finish the game and the no-hitter as West Bladen took a 10-0 win.

At the plate, Jake Butler and West each slapped a pair of hits and David Valenta’s single drove home two runs.
