East Bladen cheerleaders earn honor
ELIZABETHTOWN — Three East Bladen cheerleaders will now have the chance to participate in the halftime show at the Citrus Bowl in Orlando, Fla., in January after being named All-American Cheerleaders recently.
Blair Potter, Janae Wright and Hannah Wheeless earned the honor during the Edge Cheer & Dance Camp held at East Bladen High. The instructors for the event were from N.C. State University and they also served as judges..

ECA schedules golf tourney Sept. 23
WHITE LAKE — Elizabethtown Christian Academy will hold its inaugural Legacy Golf Tournament at Vineyard Golf at White Lake on Saturday, Sept. 23, with a shotgun start at 9:30 a.m.
The tournament cost is $40 per player or $160 per team, and it will include, greens fee, cart, food and awards after play.
Sponsorships are also available: Navy at $500 (includes a four-person team); Orange at $250 (includes tee box recognition); and White at $100 (includes program recognition).

Rec soccer registration is now open
ELIZABETHTOWN — Recreation soccer registration will continue through Sept. 1 at the Bladen County Parks & Recreation Department.
Registration fees are: Tot Soccer (ages 3 to 4) $25 per participant; soccer (ages 5 to 7 coed, 8to 10 girls and boys, 11 to 14 boys and girls $30 per participant. Age is determined as of Aug. 1.
