WINSTON-SALEM — Will Lambeth, a 2016 graduate of West Bladen High, signed to play basketball for Piedmont International University this week.

The Bladenboro native was recruited and signed by former NBA All-Star Josh Howard, who, after a 12-year professional career playing with the Dallas Mavericks, Washington Wizards, Utah Jazz, Minnesota Timberwolves and Austin Toros, became coach of the Bruins in 2016.

“(We’re) excited about Will Lambeth coming to Piedmont,” Howard said. “He brings a unique skill set to the team and can also stretch the floor with his ability to shoot.”

Lambeth, 6-foot, 2-inch, 175-pound forward as a senior who primarily came off the bench for the Knights as a role player, helped West Bladen to a 20-8 overall mark.

“(We’re) very happy for Will to get an opportunity to play this great game and get an education.” said Knights coach Travis Pait.

Lambeth signed to play at Piedmont International University on Monday.
