Vineyard Golf tournament is Oct. 7

WHITE LAKE — The third annual Vineyard Golf at White Lake golf tournament will tee off on Saturday, Oct. 7, with a shotgun start at 1 p.m.

The tournament will be run on a Captain’s Choice format with a cost of $260 per team. Entry deadline is Thursday, Oct. 5, and the rain date is Monday, Oct. 9.

A car will be up for grabs in a hole-in-one contest on No. 16 and $5,000 is the prize for the first hone-in-one on No. 5. Players will also have the opportunity to meet Jeff Crittenton, the ABC Sports long-drive champion.

Proceeds from the event will benefit Bladen County VFW Post 8062.

Kickball tourney to benefit Senior Games

PEMBROKE — A “Monster Kickball Tournament” will be held Saturday, Oct. 14, at the Pembroke Recreation Complex to benefit the 25th annual Lumber River Regional Senior Games.

The event will begin at 8 a.m. and the Complex is located at 7164 N.C. 711 in Pembroke.

Teams will consist of 11 players and the entry fee is $165 per team. The tournament is single-elimination. The team with most creative T-shirts, uniforms or costumes will win a prize.
