CERRO GORDO — East Bladen got four goals from Brooks McGill and the Eagles whitewashed West Columbus 9-0 in a Three Rivers Conference match on Wednesday.

East Bladen scored quickly, getting McGill’s first goal off a feed from Greyson Heustess just six minutes in. A few minutes later, McGill struck again with a goal off another assist from Heustess for a 2-0 edge.

Barely a blink later, the Vikings provided the visitors with a penalty shot that Jake Evans rocketed into the back of the net for a 3-0 lead.

After a lull in the scoring, the Eagles extended the lead on a goal from McGill that secured his hat trick and, shortly after, McGill scored his fourth goal to give East Bladen a 5-0 lead.

As the first half was winding down, Gabe Barber got a steal and took the ball home for a goal. With just ticks left in the half, Heustess found Pierce Melvin with a pass and Melvin scored to give the Eagles a 7-0 lead at intermission.

In the second half, the Vikings fouled East Bladen in the box and Evans ripped another shot into the net for an 8-0 advantage. Mid-way into the second half, Spencer Scott converted a penalty kick and ended the match on the mercy rule.

East Bladen is now 7-1 overall, 3-0 in the conference.
