DUBLIN – The Lady Knights ripped home 41 kills Tuesday en route to a Three Rivers Conference win over visiting Red Springs by the scores of 25-20, 25-21, 21-25 and 25-22.

“The girls played great,” said West Bladen coach Gaye Davis, whose team improved to 4-10 overall and 4-7 in the conference.

Raegan Davis filled up the stat sheet with 12 kills, five aces, 10 digs, two solo blocks and a block assist. Mikayla Winebarger contributed seven kills, four aces, six digs and a solo block; Patience Parker had six kills and two aces; Caroline Davis had 15 digs; Alise Pait turned in six kills and an ace; Elizabeth Allbright had five kills, three aces and a solo block; and Lexie Corrothers had five kills.

The Lady Knights were scheduled to plat at East Columbus on Thursday.

— In Tabor City on Tuesday, the Lady Eagles fell in straight sets to host South Columbus by the scores of 25-17, 25-7 and 25-17.

East Bladen is now 2-12 overall, 2-9 in the Three Rivers Conference.

The Lady Eagles were to host Red Springs on Thursday.

— In Dublin on Tuesday, the Lady Knights swept a pair of Three Rivers Conference matches from visiting Red Springs.

West Bladen improved to 9-0-1 over all and in the conference with the two wins.

In the first match, a continuation of an earlier suspended match, the Lady Knights earned a 6-3 verdict, winning five of the six singles matches.

Conner Brisson took a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 2; Savannah Lee won 6-1, 6-0 at No. 3; Autumn Brisson earned a6-2, 6-4 win at No. 4; Mireya Sandoval won 6-3, 6-1 at No. 5; and Alyssa Smith got a 6-0, 6-2 win at No. 6.

In doubles, the duo of Sandoval and Smith won 8-3 at No. 3.

In the regularly scheduled match, West Bladen cruised to an 8-1 win, this time sweeping the doubles matches.

In singles, Conner Brisson won 6-0, 6-4 at No. 1; Lee won 6-2, 6-1 at No. 2; Helen Lopez won 3-6, 6-3 and 10-6 (tie-breaker) at No. 3; Sandoval took a tough 6-4, 7-5 win at No. 5; and Smith won 6-0, 6-1 at No. 6.

In doubles, the No. 1 tandem of Conner Brisson and Lee won 8-4; Lopez and Autumn Brisson won 8-5 at No. 2; and the team of Sandoval and Smith won 8-3 at No. 3.

“It was a long night — matches started at 4 p.m. and didn’t end until after 9 p.m.,” West Bladen coach Mary White said. “It was Senior Night for our only senior, Helen Lopez, and a good time was had by all after the match with food and fellowship.”

— In Tabor City on Tuesday, East Bladen put up a tough fight against host South Columbus, but the Lady Eagles fell to the Lady Stallions, 9-0, in a Three Rivers Conference match.

East Bladen will host Red Springs in a conference match Thursday.
