DUBLIN — West Bladen will head to Rowland on Friday looking to extend their Three Rivers Conference win streak to two straight when they face South Robeson.

It’s a matchup the Knights have gotten the better of over the years, with West Bladen holding an 8-5 advantage all-time, including a 35-0 shellacking of the Mustangs in the last meeting a year ago.

But West Bladen will have some stiff challenges awaiting them.

On offense, South Robeson quarterback Tyler Locklear has plenty of weapons at his disposal — including running back Darrius Brown, 6-3 wide receiver Tyleek Baker and 6-3, 255-pound tight end Cameron Werrell.

On defense, the Mustangs are led by linebacker Jaylen Mitchell and have a ton of size along the line — including 6-4, 210 defensive end Derrick Hunt; 6-2, 330 lineman Marqice Murphy; 6-1, 230 lineman Eric Lewis; and lineman Ahmad Lewis.

The Knights, 3-2 overall and 1-2 in the conference, are coming off a 48-8 thumping of East Columbus last week; the Mustangs, 1-4 and 1-2, are coming off a 58-12 whipping by Whiteville.

Kickoff in Rowland is set for Friday at 7 p.m.
