DUNN — East Bladen rallied from a 1-0 deficit, then held on through a flurry of Midway attacks on goal to pull out a 2-1 Four County Conference win on the pitch Monday, 2-1.

Spencer Scott was a busy goalie through the first half, registering seven saves to help keep the match knotted at 0-0 at halftime. But the Raiders booed in a goal early in the second half and protected that lead until mid-way into the half when Brooks McGill took a pass from Greyson Heustess and got a good look at the goal — but was fouled. McGill’s ensuing penalty kick found its mark and the match was knotted at 1-1.

The match remained tied for the next 15 minutes but, with just six minutes left, Heustess headed the ball to a streaking McGill, who booted the ball into the net for a 2-1 Eagles lead.

Midway then put on a mad rush at the East Bladen net, only to have five successive shots thwarted by Scott.
