RED SPRINGS — The Red Devils put visiting West Bladen in an early hole Tuesday and never let them crawl out to finish off a 76-62 Three Rivers Conference win.
The loss dropped the Knights to 0-3 overall and 0-2 in the conference.
Red Springs road a trio of three-pointers in the first quarter to a 24-12 advantage it would never give up. Shyron Adams and Gerardo Reyes each hit three-pointers for West Bladen in the quarter.
The Red Devils kept the pressure on through the second quarter and managed to extend the lead with a 13-10 run through the stanza to take a 37-22 lead into halftime.
West Bladen erupted for 22 points in the third quarter — led by Adams’ 10 points — but Red Springs countered with 18 and held a 55-42 lead after three quarters.
The Knights’ fourth-quarter surge, led by a pair of three-pointers by Jimmy Williams — wasn’t enough as Red Springs won the quarter, 22-20.
Adams led West Bladen with 21 points, while Williams added nine points and Keshawn Lewis contributed eight points.
