WILLIAMSBURG, Va. — West Bladen graduate Kayla Thompson shot an even-par, three-round total of 216 to help lead the University of Wilmington at Wilmington to the title of the William & Mary Invitational at Kingsmill Resort.

Thompson poened the tournament on Sunday with a 2-under-par 70 and followed it up with a 2-over-par 74 on Monday. In the final round on Tuesday, Thompson carded an even-par 72 to finish with a career best 216 total — just three strokes off the lead for medalist honors.

UNCW led the tournament from wire to wire and finished with a 12-stroke lead over the host school. The team’s 879 tournament total set a new school record.
