LAKE WACCAMAW — The Lady Knights put together a solid game from start to finish Tuesday to beat South Columbus, 41-26, to capture third place in the East Columbus Christmas Tournament.

The win improved West Bladen to 3-7.

Laikyn Pait drilled a three-pointer as part of the Lady Knights 9-1 run to open the game and West Bladen withstood a mild Lady Stallions uprising to carry a 16-9 lead into the second quarter.

Pait canned her second three-pointer to open the second stanza that sparked a 7-1 Lady Knights burst and only a last-second three-pointer by South Columbus kept the Lady Stallions within 10 at 24-14 by intermission.

West Bladen opened the second half with an 8-3 spurt to extend the lead to 32-17, but South Columbus finished the third quarter with a small 4-0 run to close the gap to 32-21.

The Lady Knights worked hard at both ends of the floor to start the final 8 minutes, and it paid off with a 7-2 run for a 39-23 lead. The Lady Stallions had nothing left for a run, and West Bladen cruised to the 15-point win.

Pait led the ;lady Knights with 12 points, while Jenna Dove added eight points and five rebounds. Logan Autry scored six points and had five steals. Elizabeth Albright grabbed three steals for West Bladen.

The Lady Knights will return to Four County Conference action on Monday when they host Heidi Trask at 6 p.m.
