DUBLIN — The lady Knights broke open a close Four County Conference matchup with visiting Heidi Trask in the second quarter and rode the wave to a 48-36 win on Monday.

Patience Parker canned her only two baskets in the opening period and Jerena Purdie also had a pair of buckets to help West Bladen get out to an 11-10 advantage after the first 8 minutes of play.

In the second quarter, Akira Grimes drained a three-pointer, while Laikyn Pait and Kassidy Anderson each hit two baskets that put the Lady Knights on a 13-4 run and gave them a 24-14 edge at halftime.

That momentum continued in the second half when West Bladen used a 17-11 burst in the third quarter — highlighted by seven points from Alanna Ludlum that included a three-pointer — and the Lady Knights went up 41-25 going into the final quarter.

The Lady Titans outscored West Bladen by an 11-7 margin, but the outcome was already sealed.

Ten Lady Knights scored in the game, led by Pait and Anderson with eight points each, followed by seven points each from Ludlum and Grimes. Purdie added six points for West Bladen.
