DUBLIN —West Bladen got balanced scoring, won all four quarters and jumped to an early lead in a 64-42 Four County win over visiting Union on Thursday.

The Knights improved to 14-3 overall and 5-2 in the conference ahead of a huge week that will see West Bladen play Wallace-Rose Hill twice and conference leader Heidi Trask once.

West Bladen got three-pointers from Keshawn Lewis and John Bowen that helped lead the Knights to a 13-4 lead going into the second stanza.

Three-pointers again fueled West Bladen in the quarter, as the Knights drained four of the long-range bombs — one each by Sayaun Dent, Will Lambeth, Shaquille Johnson and Lewis — allowing West Bladen to hold off a Spartans rally and take the quarter, 18-13. The Knights took a 31-17 advantage into halftime.

The momentum stayed with West Bladen in the second half, as Stefan McDonald took charge in the third quarter with eight points, including a three-pointer, and the Knights outscored Union by an 18-14 verdict and extended the lead to 49-31.

West Bladen sealed the win with a 15-11 advantage in the fourth quarter, sparked by Lewis’ third three-pointer of the game.

Nine Knights scored in the game, led by three players in double figures — McDonald with 11, Lewis with 10 and Dent with 10. Johnson contributed nine points to the win, while Lambeth and Bowen each scored seven.
