DUBLIN — The Lady Eagles invaded The Castle at West Bladen and scored three goals within an 8-minute span of the first half en route to a 9-0 Four County Conference whitewashing.

The win improved East Bladen to 13-1 overall and 6-1 in the conference. The Lady Knights fell to 1-16 and 0-7.

The Lady Eagles’ super scorer Lacey Suggs put East on the board with a goal 8 minutes into the match, then followed up with a pass to Justyna Gargala 3 minutes later that the junior booted home for a 2-0 lead.

Five minutes later, Ashley Hardin took a pass from Gargala and found the back of the net with a shot that gave East Bladen a 3-0 edge just 16 minutes into the match.

With about 7 minutes left in the half, Cassidy Davis took a feed from Gargala and fired in a shot to put the Lady Eagles up 4-0 and, just 3 minutes later, Claire Campbell booted home a goal to extend the lead to 5-0.

With just seconds left on the clock in the first half, Suggs scored her second goal of the match and gave the Lady Eagles a 6-0 halftime advantage.

Early in the second half, Suggs fed the ball to Hardin and the freshman rocketed a shot to the back of the net for a 7-0 edge before the game settled into a scoring lull.

But late in the half, East Bladen scored again when Erika Morales-Baza notched a goal to give the Lady Eagles an 8-0 lead. Before time could run out on the match, Sarah Johnson tallied the final goal with a shot that gave East Bladen its winning margin.

Suggs filled up the state sheet for East Bladen with two goals, four assists and six steals. Gargala had two goals and three assists, while Hardin tallied a goal and an assist. Lexie Mendell was credited with a team-high seven steals, Anna Grace Long had five steals and Maddie West contributed four steals.

The trio of Johnson, Campbell and Morales-Baza each had a goal.
