LAKE WACCAMAW — East Bladen got a hat trick from Brooks McGill and four assist from Grey Caballero en route to a 7-2 non-conference win over East Columbus on the pitch Tuesday.

McGill put the Eagles on the board halfway through the first half off a feed from Caballero and, moments later, Caballero assisted on another goal, this one by Jake Evans, to give East Bladen a 2-0 lead that stood up until halftime.

The Gators cut the deficit in half with a goal early in the second half, but the Eagles responded with McGill’s second goal on an assist from Greyson Huestess. Shortly after, East Bladen took a 4-1 lead when Heustess scored off a pass from McGill.

East Columbus again cut the deficit in half, but the Eagles went on a relentless offensive barrage — scoring three goals over the match’s final 10 minutes.

The first came from Caballero off a pass from Caleb Hatchell; then McGill got his third goal of the match; and the scoring was completed when Pierce Melvin booted home a goal.
