Bladen Community College's new director for evening curriculum and continuing programs, Dr. Gretchen D. McKeithan, is no newcomer to the Community College System.

Though she is wearing a different hat at BCC, McKeithan has extensive experience in both management and instruction in the system. Prior to coming to BCC, she was the Managing Director of the National Alliance of Community and Technical Colleges and also taught business at Richmond Community College for five years.

Prior to coming to the Community College System, she was a high school business teacher.

"As evening director, I see many students who work during the day and further their education in the evening. This is the awesome power of the American dream at its core," said McKeithan.

"To best utilize our resources, Bladen Community College can expand its course offerings for students who work during the day and give thought to substantial growth for the evening programs," she adds, enthusiastically.

A native of Pennsylvania, McKeithan matriculated at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, achieving a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. She later earned a master's in education from Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania.
