Dekhasta Diane Becton of Raleigh and Vinston Miller Rozier Jr. of Tar Heel were married in a 4 o'clock p. m. ceremony on September 28 at New Canaan Full Gospel Baptist Church in Garner. Bishop L. Foday Farrar officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Attorney and Mrs. Elwood Becton of Raleigh and is the granddaughter of James Becton and Ralph Hill Sr.
The groom is the son of Reverend and Mrs. Vinston Rozier Sr. He is the grandson of Joseph and Lue Bertha Rozier Sr., all of Tar Heel/Tobermory area, and Evelyn Sheppard of Greensboro.
The bride was escorted to the altar by her father.
Maid of honor was Kimberly Hunter and bridesmaids were Camille Brooks, Amy Freeman, Tenika Giddens, Lashanda Hill, Michelle Hill, Ursula Hunter, Tori Pittman, Torian Williams and Kimberly Munn of Tar Heel.
Flower girls were Samerra Hill and Imani Mitchell. Jadis Hill was the bell ringer.
Best man was Randy V'Estres of Durham, cousin of the groom. Groomsmen were Marcus and Taurus Becton, brothers of the bride; cousins of the groom Adrian Jones of Greensboro, Joseph Rozier III of Burlington and Antonio Whitted of Myrtle Beach, both formerly of Tar Heel; Calvin Lloyd of Raleigh, formerly of White Oak; Jameel Freeman of Chapel Hill, Corey May and Brian Middleton.
Ring bearer was Andre McDonald.
The wedding was directed by Wanda Shade and Jeannie Hutchinson. Wedding musicians were saxophonist Bobby Moody and the pianist was Reverend Jimmy Yarborough. Vocalist was Mark Archibald.
The bride received her Bachelor's degree in Political Science and her Law Degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She is presently working with Legal Aid of North Carolina specializing in domestic Violence and Child Custody issues.
The groom graduated valedictorian from Tar Heel High School. He received his Political Science degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and his Law Degree from North Carolina Central University. He serves as an Assistant District Attorney for Wake County.
The newlyweds settled in Cary after a weeklong honeymoon in Hawaii.
