Bladen County Shriners elect new officers

Members of the Bladen County Shrine Club met Jan. 4 at the Company Restaurant in Bladenboro. Members elected new officers for the coming year, including Steve Bunn, president; Jimmy Smith, vice president; Terry Baker, Treasurer; and Gerald Guyton., Secretary.

Olen Smith, Temple Guide, and Stewart Lewis, Potentate of the Sudan Shrine Temple, New Bern, presided over the event.

The Bladen County Shrine Club is an affiliate of the Sudan Shrine Temple in New Bern. The club has over 100 members locally.

The Bladen County shrine Club raised over $11,000 this year for the Shriner's Children's Hospital Network.. The fish fry is the club's largest event each year.
