Traffic station nets drug arrests

A traffic check in Elizabethtown Sunday morning netted two alleged drug violators.

Elizabethtown Police Chief Bobby Kinlaw said police and Highway Patrol Troopers were conducting a traffic check near the intersection of Martin Luther King Drive and Richardson street around 2 a.m. when the arrests occurred.

Officer W.A. Nichols arrested Tristan McRae Singletary for misdemeanor possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Singletary is 19 and lives at 697 Duty Rd., Bladenboro. He was released with a citation.

The driver of the car, Roman Ernest Long, was charged with felony possession of crack cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and misdemeanor possession of marijuana.

He was jailed under a $2,000 bond. Long is 19 and lives at 9566 Dusty Rd., Bladenboro.
