Preparations for the annual Ammon Blueberry Festival are on track and organizers hope this year's event will be the best ever. A host of activities are on tap for the festival, which is held each year on the first Saturday in June in Ammon.

One of the features of this year's event will be the Blueberry Cooking Contest. Entries will be brought in for the contest from 11 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at the Ammon Community Building on festival day. Judging will begin at 11:30 a.m.

Entrants are limited to two entries per person. Individuals from eight years of age up are allowed to enter. There will be three categories in the contest-breakfast, salads, and desserts. Prizes will be awarded for first, second and third place in each category.

The deadline to register for the contest is May 28. To obtain entry forms or information, call Sandra Kelly at 862-4591.
