Deputies arrest three on drug charges

Bladen County Sheriff's Deputies arrested three men on drug charges Saturday in Clarkton.

Walter Jefferson, Acie Burney Kelly Jr., and Anthony Tyrone Smith were arrested at Apartment 45, Oakdale Homes, around 10 p.m., according to Bladen County Sheriff Steve Bunn.

Jefferson was charge with possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana. He was released by a magistrate on $2,500 secured bond. Jefferson is 33 and lives at 5839 U.S. 701 South, Clarkton.

Kelly was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, and a child support violation. He is 24 and lives at 5579 U.S. 701 S., Clarkton. Kelly was released by a magistrate on $5,275 secured bond.

Smith was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver crack cocaine and possession of marijuana. He is 21 and lives at 5867 U.S. 701 S., Clarkton. Smith was released by a magistrate on $3,000 secured bond.

Sgt. Charles Weathers and deputies Anthony Smith, Michael Shaw and Jimmie Stanley made the arrests, Bunn said. The officers seized 49 grams of marijuana, 33 grams of crack and $310 in cash.
