Individuals from different teams across Bladen County won prices in this year's Great American Cleanup, which took place on April 17. The event was sponsored by the Keep Bladen Beautiful Committee.

According to Keep Bladen Beautiful Coordinator Gloria Dove, the grand prize winner was Brenda Kennedy of Clarkton, who won four NASCAR tickets. The tickets entitled her and her guests to pit parking and seating in the Waste Management VCP section on November 14.

After winning the tickets, Kennedy said her husband is very excited since he is an avid NASCAR race fan.

Other winners included Emma Blanks and Sheila Andrews of Riegelwood, who each won two buffets from the Front Porch; Alton Boswell of Clarkton and Katie Johnson of Bladenboro, both of whom won dinner for two at the S.& J Grill; and Jujuan Cason of Riegelwood won a $40 gift certificate from Wal-Mart.

Also winning prizes were Tater Owen of White Oak, who won a statue from Cape Craft; Sheila Link from Clarkton, who won the "Ring Out America" Gnome donated by Edna Suggs; and Thad Williams of White Oak, Polly Garner of Bladenboro, James McGomery of Carver's Creek and Jeremy Heustess, each of whom won a "Keep America Beautiful" t-shirt.
