The hunt for Stephanie Meares has gone national.

Meares, who is being sought for the murder of Robert Paul "Porky" Jackson of White Oak, is being featured prominently on the website for America's Most Wanted. The case will also be shown on a future episode of the AMW television program.

Warrants were issued charging Meares with the murder Dec. 20. She allegedly went to Jackson's home in June and shot him while he sat in a recliner.

Jackson has been called a "major" drug dealer in the Bladen County area. He and Meares have a one-year-old daughter, Rosie, whom police think is still with her mother.

Meares may be driving a black Nissan truck that belongs to a boyfriend, David Wayne Hadovanic. The license plate on the truck is HYR-6276.

Meares is known to be a drug user, and may be carrying a handgun. She is 28, stands 5'7" tall, and weighs 120 pounds. Meares has brown hair and brown eyes, but may have changed her hair color. She also has a dragon tattoo on her right ankle.

Anyone with information on Meares' whereabouts is asked to call the Bladen County Sheriff's Department at 862-4163.

A Fox network television show, America's Most Wanted with John Walsh has been responsible for hundreds of arrests of fugitives and other criminals across the country.

The website with Meares' profile is www.amw.com.
