Megan Austen Carter of Fayetteville and Johnathan Michael McGough of Summerville, South Carolina, were united in marriage on May 21 at Miles Road Baptist Church in Summerville. The Reverend Mike Royal officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Tim and Tammy Todd of Fayetteville and Larry and Teresa Carter of Little River, South Carolina. She is the granddaughter of Julian Shaw of Bladenboro and Madeline Carter of Lumberton, the late H. B. Hargrove and Grace Shaw of Bladenboro and Preston Carter of Lumberton.
The groom is the son of Richard McGough Sr. of Garland, Texas, and Teresa and Tommy Ward of Summerville. He is the grandson of Jim and Barbara Dike, the late David McGough, Lynn Groblney, and Joe and Mary Davis, all of Garland, Texas.
The bride attended the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and is now employed with Barking Lot, Inc., in Elizabethtown.
The groom attended Stratford and is also employed with Barking Lot, Inc.
Escorted to the altar by her father and given in marriage by her parents, the bride wore a long, white bias, A-line strapless gown with a natural waist. The skirt ended in a Chapel-length train. Made of Italian satin, the bodice was encrusted with bugle beads, cultured pearls, sea beads, and Swarovski crystals. She wore an elbow-length veil trimmed in white piping and held with a crystal and pearl tiara. She carried a bouquet of passion pink roses.
Maid of honor was Julie Brown of Charleston. She wore a tea-length lavender, strapless dress and carried a stained glass brandy snifter with a lighted candle.
Bridesmaids were Ashley Rowell of Lumberton, Mandi Morris of Charlotte, and Valerie Bates of Summerville. They were gowned like the honor attendant.
Best man was the father of the groom. Groomsmen were Michael Grantham, John Ford and Elwood Jordan, all of Summerville. Ushers were Britton Simmons of Orlando, Florida, brother of the bride, and Jonathan Raynor of Elizabethtown, cousin of the bride.
The groom and his groomsmen all wore black tuxedos.
Honorary bridesmaids were Denise Cross of Elizabethtown, cousin of the bride, Lydia Ko of Charlotte and Lena Rowe of Orlando. They each carried a long stem passion pink rose.
Flower girls were Isabella Britt, McKenzie Long, and Madesen Storms, all of Bladenboro and cousins of the bride. Ring bearer was Aaron Gregory of Wilmington, cousin of the bride.
Denise Cross of Elizabethtown was registrar.
After a wedding trip to the Caribbean Islands, the couple is living in Elizabethtown.
RECEPTION
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Miles Road Baptist Church. Parents of the bride, Dr. and Mrs. Timothy Todd, were hosts.
REHEARSAL DINNER
On May 20, a rehearsal dinner was held at Miles Road Baptist Church. Hosts for the evening were Richard McGough Sr. and Teresa and Tommy Ward.

FESTIVITIES
Carol Evans and Susan Gregory hosted a bridal shower for the couple at Abigail's Tea Room in Lumberton.
A luau was given for the couple and hosted by Shelby and Billy Storms at their home in Bladenboro,.
On May 19, a bachelor/bachelorette party honoring the couple was given in Charleston. Hosts for the occasion were friends of the bridal couple.
