Thomasenia Campbell was recently named Bladen County Medic of the Year for 2007.

Campbell, who was chosen for the award by fellow employees of Bladen County EMS, worked as a medical responder before advancing her certification to emergency medical technician this year. Votes were submitted through secret ballot based on the medic’s achievements, advancement of education, ability to work as a team with co-workers and job performance.

The Medic of the Year program is planned to be a “new tradition,” started this year by Bladen County EMS Supervisor Billy Warwick.

“Thomasenia is a very good, dependable and knowledgable employee,” Warwick said. “She is willing to help others in any way possible. No matter how big the task, she will find a way to get the job done.

Campbell is an outgoing person, he said, who always works to the best of her ability while helping others.

“We look forward to having her serve Bladen County for many years to come,” Warwick added.
