Staff members of Barking Lot, Inc., and several animal advocates from the Columbus County Humane Society and A Shelter Friend rescue group recently certified in pet first-aid and CPR through the American Red Cross.

The class was held at the Barking Lot, Inc., located near White Lake. The business offers a pet first-aid and CPR class to employees annually and requires that any employee or volunteer involved in direct animal care have certification.

The class was taught by Marco Lagos of the Highland Chapter ARC of Fayetteville. Participants, staff and volunteers attending the class included Tiffany Dowless, Carol Ward, Kimani Powell, Jodi Tew, Rod Collier, Julie Cameron, Wendy Millward, Barbara Carter, Silvia Kim and Krista Hansen.
