Local firefighters are invited to show their skills in the 10th annual Firefighters’ Competition during the White Lake Water Festival next month.
The White Lake Water Festival Committee will hold the event as a part of the festival on Sunday, May 18. Scheduled team events include Where’s the Water?, Bucket Brigade, Incident Command and Barrel Fight.
The event will begin at 8 a.m., at the old White Lake airport across from White Lake Motel and Camp Ground on Hwy. 701 N. Sign-in begins at 7:15 a.m., with the competition beginning after the opening ceremony and invocation.
Entry fee will be $50 per team, limited to two 5-man teams per department.
The fee includes one t-shirt for each participant for up to five participants. Alternates will not receive shirts.
A maximum of 20 teams will be allowed to take part in the event.
Entry forms for participation must be received by May 12. The entry fee will be due after confirmation of applications.
In a separate event, the Tough Man Challenge will consist of a $20 entry fee, with no more than 30 participants allowed to compete. The first place winner will receive a $50 cash prize.
