Sam Wynn, a former pastor of several churches in Bladen County including Pleasant Grove, continues to be questioned in the death of his wife, Rosemary Todd Wynn, 51. Though Wynn has not been named as a suspect in her death, he is considered a person of interest, authorities said.

Mrs. Wynn was attacked in her Raeford home on Wednesday evening, according to Hoke County Sheriff Hubert Peterkin as reported to WRAL Channel 5. She was found unconscious and transported to the hospital on Thursday morning, where she was later taken off of life support.

According to reports, Mrs. Wynn had been living at the Raeford home for several months with their 10-year-old son, Christopher.

Authorities searched the pastor’s Raleigh home, which is owned by Holland United Methodist Church where he has served for three years, on Friday evening. Wynn had recently been promoted to the Fayetteville District of the United Methodist Church, reports said.

A Bladen native, Mrs. Wynn still has many family members who reside in Bladen County. She was the daughter of Mary Lou Carroll Todd and the late Memory Todd.
