The Bladen County Board of Education recognized the county’s 2008-09 Teacher of the Year nominees. Nominees include Robin English of Booker T. Washington; Brenda Storms of Bladenboro Middle School; Kristy Bullard of Bladenboro; Mary McLeod of Bladen Lakes School; Pam Tatum of Clarkton School of Discovery; Julie Sasser of Dublin; Sarah Bosak of East Arcadia School; Vera Melvin of East Bladen High School; Jessica Belle of Elizabethtown Middle School; Linda Hayes of Elizabethtown Primary School; Priscilla Brayboy of Plain View School; Vernon Thomas Johnson of School of Extended Hope; Michelle Bordeaux of Tar Heel Middle School; and Jill Smith of West Bladen High School.

Teacher of the Year for Bladen County was Sarah Bosak of East Arcadia School. She was chosen county TOY from an excellent field of candidates.
