Cedar Creek crash kills local woman

CEDAR CREEK — A crash involving two cars at the intersection of N.C. 210 and Stedman-Cedar Creek Road killed a White Oak woman on Tuesday.

According to reports, the wreck happened about 4:30 p.m., nine miles east of Fayetteville.

A 1993 Buick was being driven southwest on Stedman-Cedar Creek Road by Larry Connell Council, 35, of 1315 Ferry Road, White Oak. Council was passing the N.C. 210 intersection when a 2006 Ford driven by Cheryl Ann Kelly, 50, of Newport News, Va., hit the vehicle, according to reports.

Frances Ann Shaw, 36, of 1315 Ferry Road, White Oak, was a passenger in Council’s vehicle. According to the report, Council indicated he had stopped at the intersection before entering.

According to published reports, Kelly’s vehicle was traveling about 45 mph. Council’s car ran off the left side of the road and into a field.
