West Bladen Tennis Tournament

DUBLIN — The second annual West Bladen Tennis Tournament, open to all ages, will be played Friday, June 14, and Saturday, June 15, at West Bladen High.

The tournament will feature singles, doubles and mixed doubles events under USTA rules. Matches will be best two out of three sets with all matches played under a 10-point tie-breaker.

Entry fee is $20 for singles and $15 per person for doubles. All proceeds benefit the West Bladen tennis teams.

Rotary golf tournament scheduled

WHITEVILLE — The 15th annual Bladenboro Rotary Golf Tournament will be held at Land O Lakes on Friday, May 10.

The event will have a 1 p.m. shotgun start immediately after lunch. Cost is $60 per player and includes lunch, greens fees, cart and dinner.

The four-member Captain’s Choice tournament is limited to the first 30 teams.

Proceeds will benefit the J.W. and Martha Black Scholarship Awards, presented to deserving West Bladen seniors.

Healthworks to hold run/walk

ELIZABETHTOWN — Healthworks Fitness & Wellness will hold the first HW Color Run for Fun on June 1 at the Elizabethtown Industrial Park.

The 3.1-mile walk/run will feature blasts of color paint every half-mile.

The event will start at 9 a.m. Registration will be $25 for Healthworks members and $30 for non-members. The fee for those 12 and under will be $15.

All proceeds will benefit Bladen We Care.

Golf tourney set for April 25

WHITE LAKE — The annual Bladen We Care Byron Gooden Golf Tournament will be played Thursday, April 25, at Carolina Sands Golf Course.

The day will include a BBQ lunch by Bubba’s Cheerwine Crew, as well as a light breakfast for those playing in the morning.

Reverse Raffle tickets for sale

ELIZABETHTOWN — The East Bladen High School Booster Club is now selling Reverse Raffle tickets for the Reverse Raffle Dinner on April 27 in the school’s atrium.

Tickets can be purchased for $100, which includes two steak dinners, that can be eaten in or taken out.
